Im Rahmen des Metropolenprojekts Berlin — Buenos Aires wurden drei Künstler:innen aus Buenos Aires und Berlin eingeladen, während eines vierwöchigen Aufenthaltes in der Partnerstadt eine temporäre künstlerische Intervention im öffentlichen Stadtraum zu entwickeln und umzusetzen.

Die Wirtschaftskrise und die Spuren der öffentlichen Proteste von 2001 sind überall in Buenos Aires sichtbar. Dazu gehört auch, dass alles, was im Stadtraum liegen gelassen wird, auf der Stelle wieder verschwindet, weil es von jemandem wieder verwertet wird. Es liegt eigentlich nichts im öffentlichen Raum herum.

Aus dieser Beobachtung heraus inszenierte ich eine Reihe von Situationen: Kleine bunte Objekte, typische argentinische Partyartikel, werden auf Parkbänken abgelegt und wechseln die Besitzer:in. So wird ein rosa Plastikauto, das ich auf einer Bank abgelegt hatte, beispielsweise sogleich von einem eleganten Herrn mit Hund und Gamaschen entdeckt und eingesteckt.

Das Diario de lo encontrado berichtet mit Bildern und Texten über diese kurzen unvorhersehbaren Szenen, die aus meiner Inszenierung entstanden sind. Dazu schreibt die argentinische Schriftstellerin Belen Gache sechs poetische Miniaturen über das Finden und das Verlieren. 500 Exemplare der Zeitung werden auf denselben Parkbänken in Buenos Aires ausgelegt, dort gelesen und mitgenommen.

As part of the Metropolitan Project Berlin - Buenos Aires, three artists from Buenos Aires and Berlin were invited to develop and realize a temporary artistic intervention in public urban space during a four-week stay in the partner city.

The economic crisis and the traces of the public protests of 2001 are visible everywhere in Buenos Aires. This also includes the fact that everything that is left lying around disappears on the spot because someone reuses it. There is actually nothing lying around in public spaces.

This observation led me to stage a series of situations: Small, colorful objects - typical Argentinian party items - are placed on park benches and change hands. For example, a pink plastic car that I had placed on a bench is immediately spotted and bagged by an elegant gentleman with a dog and spats.

The Diario de lo encontrado reports with pictures and texts about these short, unpredictable scenes that arose from my staging. There is  The Argentinian writer Belen Gache writes about finding and losing in six poetic miniatures.  500 copies of the newspaper are laid out on the same park benches in Buenos Aires, where they are read and taken away.
